I am sooo PROUD!
Okay, admittedly I probably should have intervened in this conversation but I just couldn´t help myself. I posted a few hours ago about a daycare child I care for who is leaving early today to get the flu shot
. She is 4 years old.
Here is the conversation between her and my 7 year old son...
Dcgirl - "Miss Melissa, will we be doing a craft after nap time today?"
Me - "No, Emma, you are going home early today"
Dcgirl - "Oh, ya, my mom is getting me. We are going to go to the doctor so mom and I can get our flu shot. The flu shot will keep us healthy and will make sure we don´t get the flu and get sick (no kidding...just like a commercial I swear!
)"
My son - Very upset by this statement. Almost irrate. "No, No, No. The flu shot is poison. It doesn´t work. Shots are bad for you. You should just eat healthy foods and get adjusted by the chiropractor and get exercise. The flu shot is bad"
OMG. I just about fell off my chair. I was driving at the time and the kids were all in the van. I thought I was going to choke on the gum I was chewing.
But, I will admit, rightly so or not, I was PROUD!
My 7 year old ´gets it´.
