Found an awesome doc
I had to share this great news . . .I finally found a close-by doctor who agreed to see DD without vaxing her. He said he understands completely why I wouldn´t want to vax her. In fact, he said side effects can be terrible. He didn´t give me the standard song and dance about how great immunizations are. His only pro comment was that I would feel wretched if my daughter came down with whooping cough and had to be hospitalized. His next sentence was that I would feel equally wretched if she had a vaccine reaction. He advised keeping sick people away from her until she is much older and can better handle infections. Anyway, I so wanted to have a readily accessible doctor for well visits and in case my daughter needs to see him if she´s sick. His office is less than ten minutes away. He also told me that he doesn´t recommend one parenting style, but then everything he said sounded like it came right out of an AP book. He is long-winded and my daughter started squirming in my arms. He told me that she´s trying to tell me something (duh, of course) . . . but that he acknowledges that babies are excellent communicators of their wants, that he supports me not-vaxing, that he didn´t try to get me to push solids. . . I´m just elated and I had to share this great news with you moms. I once again have a bit of faith in the medical community.
